ABOUT US
LOCAL SOLUTIONS FOR A DIGNIFIED AND FAIR WORLD
The Association for Sustainable Development (ADED) embodies a vision of development, driven by universal values of solidarity. Founded in 2011 by Jean-Marc Waridel, a fully qualified civil engineer, this non-profit making organization aims to be a key partner in sustainable development in the fields of water, sanitation and hygiene.
ADED does not initiate projects, but supports local development initiatives by mobilising financial resources and technical expertise from public and private Swiss institutions. ADED does not finance projects.
The ADED team is made up of employees and volunteer members who give their time and resources to achieve the association’s objectives. Driven by a desire to put their specialised skills to good use, particularly in the technological field, these people devote their time and expertise to helping people in need. Whether designing innovative solutions, implementing drinking water supply projects or establishing sustainable sanitation systems, these volunteers share a common mission: to improve the living conditions of disadvantaged communities.

Local communities
We recognise the social capital that exists in every community. We work closely with them to understand their specific needs and develop appropriate solutions.
Our partners
We partner with a range of organisations, both public and private. Our commitment is demonstrated through transparent collaboration, where we respect the skills and contributions of each partner.
Environment
ADED attaches the utmost importance to the environmental dimension of its sustainable development projects. We strive to minimise our impact on the ecosystem while meeting the needs of communities.
Integrity
SEE MORE
Transparency
We are committed to communicating openly with our donors, partners and communities about our operations, finances and results.
Ethics
We adhere to the fundamental principles of quality and respect for human rights that govern humanitarian and development actions.
Compliance with laws and regulations
We comply with the laws and regulations in force in all regions where we operate. This ensures that our actions are always legal and ethical.
Prevention of abuse
ADED respects human rights and fundamental freedom for all.
ADED has put in place an internal system for reporting and dealing with any acts of fraud or corruption, abuse and non-compliance with the code of conduct by its members, employees and partners in the field in the context of the projects it supports. Depending on the severity of the problem and the people involved, various channels can be activated, as specified in the association’s code of conduct. A contact form is available on our website for this purpose.
Collaboration

Partnerships
We believe that working together maximises the impact of our sustainable development projects. We build strong partnerships with all the public and private organisations that share our vision, mission and values.
Knowledge sharing
We encourage the exchange of knowledge and expertise. This means that we learn from the communities we serve as much as we help them. We are committed to sharing our skills and collaborating so that all parties involved benefit from the experience.
Active and inclusive approach
ADED promotes an active and inclusive approach by supporting local initiatives and ensuring that projects incorporate these principles.
