Santos Reyes

The department of Beni, where the village of Santos Reyes is located, is often cut off from the rest of Bolivia during the rain season. Fortunately, the government has tried to find solutions and the road is now accessible in all seasons.

In the Amazon basin, especially from the last foothills of the Andes in the northeast of La Paz, the water is between 1.0m and 5.0m deep. The soil is sandy, without stones, and therefore easy to drill. In the village of Reyes, ADED installed a manual water pump and gave demonstrations to the villagers. The pump allows the population to get water in a more simple and efficient way.
